| manmademuzik / Music Blog | | | cubana e.p. | | ManMadeMuzik is the brand new label of Eric de Man and presents it's first release the 2-track Cubana e.p.
Cubana: This track builds around warm Detroit-inspired sequences climaxing into compelling strings.File under: Electronica / Detroit Techno and is the opening track on ManMadeMuzik's first release. Digital bubblebath, anyone?
Lovedubll: This sultry, hypnothic groove is accented by piano stabs and echo's that decay so long that they start to live a life of their own. You may recognise this track as the highlight of Eric de Man’s Extrema-festival 2009 set. lovedubII is an ode to the roland Space Echo, word!
But ManMadeMuzik has more in store. We also started a series of podcast's. The first of which you can hear when you follow this link: http://www.manmademuzik.com/podcasts/mmmodcast01.mp3 or check on www.djbroadcast.nl. This monthly program, presented by Wanda, informs you about new releases on the label and you can listen to mixes of Eric's favorite DJ's. The kick-off is of course with Eric de Man.
About eric de Man: His love for Chicago house music shines through in every set he plays, whether it's jackin' , deep, warm, weird or nasty. this combined with his unsatiable apetite for all the wonderfull flavors that music has to offer makes it almost impossible to place Eric into a specific genre. these elements form the base of Eric's production's. tracks like "Saturdaynight" penned with J. Loverman and sung by US house-legend Colonel Abrams or "I am Somebody" (A collab with Quazar's Gert van Veen) on Jamie Anderson's Artform label are proof that Eric keeps it in the groove. As a member of the band Handel he brought cutting edge electro punk and with the rappers Kapabel and Rochus Eric produced Hip Hop of unprecedented quality. Different? Diverse? Yes, but this doesn't show that he is not capable to choose direction, but it says everything about Eric's love for music.
Quote’s:
Darko Esser: “Flying start from Man Made Music with this very musical, emotional and above all very playable piece of electronics. Looking forward to upcoming shizzle!”
Kid Goesting: "Cubana sounds like driving on a roundabout in detroit at sunset!"
